Walking among ventarole to find answers to questions such as: ✶ What is a ventarola and how is it made? ✶ What did it hide? ✶ Why do they come to light from Lecce’s stone quarries? ✶ Who lived in ventarole?
In a landscape where the plays of light, the colour and force of nature offer an incredible show, you can get in touch with the pages of geology, long disappeared environments and climates, animals and men living in Salento between 120 and 60 thousands years ago.

Duration: max 1.30 hours.
Target: from 3rd class of Primary to Senior High School; tourist and association groups

Dolmen and Menhir

✶ What are dolmen and menhir? ✶ Who built them and when? ✶ What for? ✶ Why are Salento’s dolmen so peculiar? ✶ Which elements differentiate them from those in France and in England??

A walk through the striking world of Salento’s megalithism, where the mute and solitary stones will outline the mysterious history of a population on the threshold of “history”, emphasizing the function of documentation – having lost their original function - and the present man’s responsibility for their care and protection.

Fruition conditions: Mandatory booking for the School, max 50 students.
Duration: max 2 hours and 30 mins.
Target: from 3rd class of Primary to Senior High School; tourist and association groups

Escursione

A geo-archaeological walk

✶ Do we really know our territory? ✶ What are "pozzelle"? ✶ Who “built” the coastal arches between Sant'Andrea and Torre dell'Orso? ✶ To when does the little lake of Orte (Otranto) date back? ✶ What are rodolites? ✶ And slumps? ✶ Was Salento really surrounded by a barrier reef? ✶ What are brecce ossifere? ✶ Where is the Deers’ Grotto? ✶ And Zinzulusa’s and Romanelli’s? ✶ Who and why did attend these grottoes in prehistory?
Answers to this and many more questions can be found during a 65 million years long walk: environments, animal and men long disappeared, getting to know an unusual and spectacular Salento.

Fruition conditions : Mandatory booking- for the School, max 50 students.
Duration: max 3.00 hours.
Target: from 3rd class of Primary to Senior High School; tourist and association groups.
