ne fundin e kretaceut po formoheshe platforma karbonike e Salento-s mbi te cilat u vendosen koloni molusqesh bivalvul biondertues te quajtura rudiste te zhdukura rreth 65milion vjet me pare.Ne kete bllok kalkar te Altamures mund te shohim rreth 60vrima te gjata rreth 20cm dhe me nje diameter nga 1 deri ne 2,5cm brenda te cilave qendronin rudistet.
