Pendant on atrophic canine of Cervus sp.Up one level |
Civic Museum of Palaeontology and Palaeo-ethonology “Decio de Lorentiis”. Pendant on
atrophic canine of Cervus sp. Bone. Upper Palaeolithic.
Man started from the Upper Palaeolithic to shape his own person with objects apparently without practical function, but with a symbolic charge which connected the object to ideological-religious spheres. The dish obtained on an atrophic canine of a deer, by means of a horizontal through hole, was widespread in the Palaeolithic.
