Civic Museum of Palaeontology and Palaeo-ethonology “Decio de Lorentiis”. Tankard
with button shaped handle. Pottery mix. Metals age.
Typical vascular element of the archaeological facies of Laterza, the tankard with botton shaped handle comes from the latest phase, between the 21st – 19th century B.C., which gets its name from a sepulchre in a cave in Cellino San Marco. In this period in other Italian regions a new cultural horizon asserts itself: The 1st Bronze age, with plastic forms in the pottery, also changed in Apulia, like the button shaped handles.
