sphyraena, fossil remains on slab. Eocene period. 55-30 million years.
Limestone slabs, coming from a single block opened along the sagittal plane, bearing the two precise halves of a small specimen of Sphiraena sphiraena, spet or Mediterranean barracuda.
The fossil comes from the large fossil deposit of Pesciaia di Bolca on the Lessini Mountains in the Province of Verona.
