Civic Museum Paleontology and Palaeo-ethonology “Decio de Lorentiis” Messapian vase.
Classical period. 4th century B.C.
The trozzella is a vascular shape typical of the messapian civilisation. The light cream colour sample has a squashed globular shape and decoration painted in a brown-blackish colour partially faded, interrupted in correspondence to the handles. On the neck there is an irregular reticular panel, on the back a branch of undulating ivy with heart shaped leaves and below a double horizontal band. The foot is decorated with a double horizontal band. The handles are missing while the everted rim has many pieces missing.
