Civic Museum of Palaeontology and Palaeo-ethonology “Decio de Lorentiis”.
Asteroidea, fossil remains on rock slab. Triassic. 251-199 million years.
The two slabs are some of the few exhibits in the Museum of Maglie which do not come from the Salento area. Indeed, they were found in the province of Belluno and belonged to the personal collection of Decio De Lorentiis, the first Curator of the Museum of Maglie. They are completely covered by fossil remains of Asteroidea, echinoderms with five tapered arms, commonly called starfish, which lived in the Triassic age.
